the young boy's voice grows strong without a doubt.
his song a mirror of his mother's dreams
to send him at the age of twelve about
his father's business. but, alas, it seems
his father he is not. though he would preach,
the charge is not his own to keep or have.
so with his song he would for glamour reach;
emotive power he would woo & brave.
the serpent stirs awake where once it slept
but youth conspires to keep the serpent tame;
& from his song the serpent's words are kept
although the stirrings in his loins proclaim
the most compelling story man has told.

You do quite well with the sonnet form. There is a lot of material about music and singing. If you sing as good as you write, you should definitely sing much more.
