solemn shades in shadows sit.
ignored; forgotten.

tribal marks under makeup;
the baobab dies.
old hausa trader,
timeless man & timeless wares;
endangered spscies.
weeds throttle gravestones;
the dead lay unattended.
the gods have withdrawn.
a five kobo coin;
the wages of penury.
beggars go on strike.
a fat alhaji
laying his treasures on earth;
an ant dragging dung.
